Health Care Ministry

Another major apostolate of SMRA is providing nursing care, treatment and education through hospitals, dispensaries, and nursing institutes. Women, children, and the poor receive priority in our medical services. At present the Congregation has 6 dispensaries, including 5 maternities. Sisters serve in a private hospital including nursing school and in four other hospitals.

Our Mission

Consecrated person stands at the heart of the Church, and mission is essential to understanding consecrated life. Inspired by its charism, the SMRA Congregation lives its mission through unconditional love, joyful service, and compassionate presence, especially among the poor and marginalized. As Perfectae Caritatis teaches, consecrated persons participate in the Church’s pastoral mission through education, care of the sick, and other ministries (PC 10).

Through education, healthcare, social and pastoral ministries, the Sisters witness to the Gospel with joy, compassion, creativity, and love. Inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit, the Congregation has extended its mission to eight dioceses in Bangladesh, continually renewing its ministries in response to the needs of the Church, society, and diverse cultures. Ultimately, all their service seeks the glory of the Father (EG 267).

Following Christ the Healer, we SMRA Sisters serve the sick, orphans, women, and the poor with motherly compassion. Through nursing ministry we bring healing, mercy, and dignity to those who suffer.
